Leduc Trustee Dawn Miller elected ACSTA Vice President

Posted

STAR Catholic School Division is thrilled to announce the recent election of Leduc Trustee Dawn Miller as Vice President of the Alberta Catholic School Trustees’ Association (ACSTA).

Currently in year two of her first term as a STAR Catholic Trustee, Miller is a mother of three children — one a graduate of Christ the King School, and two who still attend STAR Catholic Schools.

Miller represented families of Leduc for over a decade as an executive member of the school councils at École Notre Dame School, Father Leduc Catholic School, and Christ the King School.

“I am honoured and humbled to have been elected into this position by an association of my peers and eager to step into a leadership role to enhance the important work undertaken by ACSTA,” says Miller. “It is truly a privilege to serve students, staff, and families both as a local trustee and now on a provincial level.”

Formed in 1966 and composed of members from across Alberta, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories, ACSTA advocates for the Catholic school system provincially and provides faith formation opportunities for Catholic trustees.

ACTA’s vision is "That all have access to a publicly funded Catholic education," and its mission is to “Celebrate, preserve, promote, and enhance Catholic education”. Learn more about the Alberta School Trustees’ Association on their website at www.actsa.ab.ca.
