Registration and Fees

STAR Catholic provides busing service through a variety of options including cooperative busing agreements with public school boards which operate buses in the area or region where our students reside.

STAR Catholic School Division does not own or operate any of its own buses. We partner with other school divisions and contractors to provide our school bus service. Our Division provides transportation for students who live 2.4 km or further from their designated school, and who lived within our formed school boundaries. For students who reside less than 2.4 kms of their designated school or outside the division formed boundaries, there may be “conditional” busing options available. Please contact the Division Transportation Office (cell: 780.690.6318) if you require more information.

2017-2018 Registration

Busing requests need to be completed by June 30th prior to the school year or if new to the school, as soon as possible.

Parents are encouraged to submit their transportation request as early as possible (May or June). Routes are normally approved by the last week of August. After your application is approved and routes have been finalized, your school secretary will contact you with your route details. Parents are usually notified of bus route information in late August.

You can also get a form at your school or from the Division Transportation Officer 780.690.6318. Complete the form, print it off, and scan the signed form and email it to transportation@starcatholic.ab.ca. Or print off a hard copy, complete it, sign it and bring it to your school office in person.

Registrations made after June 30, will be handled on a first come, first served basis with consideration for age of student and distance from school. If there is not adequate space on the approved bus routes, your request may be put on a waiting list until bus routes are reassessed and adjusted in late September.

After the school year starts, the application review, approval and communication process may take up to two weeks if the bus is already at capacity, a new stop needs to be added or routes need to be adjusted.

After your application is approved and routes have been finalized, your school secretary will contact you with your route details, fees, etc.
