Mr. Bouchard appointed new Superintendent of STAR Catholic School Division

Leduc — The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Mr. Charlie Bouchard has been appointed the new Superintendent of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman (STAR) Catholic School Division, pending ministerial approval.

“Charlie’s expertise and professionalism are a tremendous and genuine asset to STAR Catholic, and his dedication and passion for Catholic education truly are a blessing for the entire Division,” said Michelle Lamer, Board Chair. “We are excited by the vision he has for the School Division and look forward to the journey ahead on behalf of all STAR Catholic.”

Mr. Bouchard has served as Assistant Superintendent, in HR and Technology since 2013. Before coming to the Division, he served for four years in a similar capacity in Holy Family Catholic Regional Division #37 in Peace River. Prior to moving into senior administration, Mr. Bouchard spent 10 years serving as a school administrator, as both a principal and vice principal at the elementary and junior high levels. He has a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Lethbridge, is married, with twin children, and resides in Leduc, attending St. Michael Parish.

It’s these many hands that make STAR Catholic a success in and out of the classroom,” said Bouchard. “I am excited by the opportunity to work closely with all our partners in Catholic education, across our Division, and strengthen those relationships, that connection to Christ in our schools, and build on our proven track record of success.”

Mr. Bouchard is currently serving as Acting Superintendent of STAR Catholic Schools.
