Go Blue for World Catholic Education Day!

Posted

Every year, 40 days after Easter on the Feast Day of the Ascension of Christ, Catholics around the globe celebrate World Catholic Education Day.

It’s a time to come together as students, parents, teachers, staff, and trustees to give thanks for the gift of Catholic education we are so blessed to enjoy.

To mark the occasion, members of the Catholic community are encouraged to wear blue on Thursday, May 30.

The colour of the sky and seas — some of God’s most magnificent creations — blue also symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, faith, truth, and heaven. It is also associated with the Blessed Virgin Mary.

By wearing blue on World Catholic Education Day, we not only show our support for Catholic education, we also create a visible tie connecting the Catholic community as a whole, which serves as a tangible representation of our mutual respect, friendship, and love.

So, bust out your blues of all shades, wear them with pride, and join us in going blue for World Catholic Education Day! Don't forget to share your photos with us using #STARCatholic and #BlueforCatholicEd
